Cameron Edwards and Joe Lenzie aka Sigma, have been making their presence felt on the drum and bass scene since 2007. From early releases on labels such as Charge and Viper Recordings, to the seminal All Blue on Zinc’s Bingo imprint (one of DNBA’s most downloaded tracks ever), the boys stepped up to the big time with serious dancefloor killers Paint It Black and the anthem El Presidente VIP.
With respect now gained with the scene as producers and highly sought after DJs, Sigma continue working to maximise their profile within the realms of D&B and beyond it. Highlights include their featured minimix for Annie Mac on Radio One, squeezing in 35 tracks in five minutes as well as remix work for artists such as Top Cat on Special Dedication, Ms Dynamite, and grime stalwart Skepta on Rescue Me (400,000 plays and counting). In amongst all the music and DJ gigs the guys found time to start their own label, Life Recordings, with debut release El Presidente VIP/ Something Special going on to be Nu-Urban’s highest selling release of 2009. They were also awarded Best Breakthrough DJs at the Drum & Bass Arena awards. A great way to cap off a successful year, and more recognition of Cam and Joe’s hard work and dedication to their craft.
With a new decade now here Sigma are intent on leaving their indelible mark etched permanently on the scene. Kicking off 2010 with Shut The Lights Off with Adam F and hip hop legend Redman, this is followed by their debut release for Breakbeat Kaos… The Stand Tall EP. Consisting of four tracks, it’s Sigma quality and diversity all the way through. From the dancefloor stylings of Original Sin’s remix of Front To Back and brain thumping anthem The Jungle to the more melodic vibes on Baltimore and the vocodered vox on Stronger, The Stand Tall EP covers all bases. Confirmation of this is shown by the fact three of the EPs four tracks feature on the Ministry of Sound compilation CD entitled Mixed…. By DJ Friction, along with Paint It Black VIP. To add to all of this is the exciting collaboration with BBK head honcho and D&B legend DJ Fresh on Cylon. An unadulterated stomper of the highest order, Cylon, supported by the likes of Andy C and Goldie, is the lead track from Fresh’s latest long player Kryptonite.
What else to look forward to from Sigma? Well, there’s more episodes of their Life Podcasts. Utilising this wide reaching medium as a platform to further showcase their and other artists talents, previous guests include Goldie, Original Sin, DJ Fresh, IC3 and The Nextmen. Also keep an eye out for Sigma’s video diary on You Tube.

“Reeps One began beatboxing at 17 and over the last four years has become internationally recognised as a leading artist of the New School Beatbox Scene. His ability to rock crowds and have venues shaking with his vocal skills alone is a feat unmatched. The purity of his skill is what places him above many and lead him to win the Vauxhall UK Beatbox Championships TWO YEARS in a row (2009 & 2010), a feat only ever achieved by the highly acclaimed Beardyman.
Invited to the World Beatbox Championship last year his skills are not going unnoticed. Reeps’ ‘all through the mouth’ philosophy, without loop pedals, effects, samples or gimmicks have earned him maximum respect amongst the beatbox community and set him aside from the rest of the pack.”

Roksonix, aka Guy Abbott and Phil Desborough are a producer/DJ double act hailing from Buckinghamshire in the UK. “…with an energetic stage presence each banger they drop you’re sure to get a reaction, these lads are definitely worth the watch!!” www.idiosynphonic.com
Guy and Phil were both surrounded by music from a young age, growing up and playing in bands together during their early teens. Interested in hip hop and jungle they started attending events like Slammin’ Vinyl and Helter Skelter at the Sanctuary in Milton Keynes. With new influential drum and bass DJs emerging, like Andy C and Mampi Swift, the guys knew they wanted to be involved in the rave scene, and both became vinyl junkies, mixing drum and bass every spare second they had.
Next the boys began creating their own music, experimenting with different genres but with a focus on drum and bass. After Guy heard Giant’s ‘Drumsticks’ and Phil was introduced to Caspa and Rusko’s ‘FabricLive 37’, they were inspired to make new sounds, and with their shared history, it wasn’t long before they were collaborating together on dubstep tracks, and decided to form Roksonix. Their first dubstep track, a bootleg remix of ‘Hide and Seek’ by Imogen Heap, was an instant internet sensation, gaining over 4 million hits on YouTube in less than 10 months.
The boys followed this up by entering and winning the Circus Records remix competition of Flux Pavilion’s track ‘Voscillate’, with subsequent remixes of ‘Follow’ for Crystal Fighters and of ‘Sergeant Smash’ for Talay Riley. The boys were also asked to produce the official remix of Labyrinth’s debut single ‘Let The Sunshine’ for Sony Records.
Roksonix also stirred up a small storm in the dubstep world with a number of original tracks including ‘Just Jokes’ released on Prime Audio, and ‘Skank Tank’, soon followed by a remix of FuntCase’s ‘Gorilla Flex’ and collaboration with Statelapse, ‘Let’s Go’, all on 4:20 Records.
In their first whirlwind year Guy and Phil also began DJing out at events, initially within the UK, then outside of the UK to become truly international artists. After only a year of producing original tracks and remixes, DJing and winning the Circus remix competition the boys signed exclusively to Circus, so watch this space for further original tracks, remixes and tour dates from the Roksonix boys!

Strong, emotive and sexy, meet Manchesters’ Jenna G – a self confessed music fiend – has been a staple in the Urban Music scene from a young age. Known in 2009 as a prominent drum and bass artist, live performer and broadcaster, Jenna is currently back in her hometown after a four year stint in London on the BBC’s digital station 1Xtra.
She ventured into performing and presenting very early on in her musical quest on one of Manchester’s premier pirate radio stations Love Energy at the tender age of 14. It was here Jenna became inspired by underground sounds and hooked up with a group of MCs and DJs called Raggabeats Crew which spawned the hip hop group ‘Subliminal Darkness’. After four years, Jenna left the group to pursue other styles and sounds. She began a residency at a night at DryBar, called Eardrum, and appeared at various live music nights around Manchester making her a name as a vocalist and MC. Singing with the bands at underground gigs introduced Jenna G to Darren and 2D, a drum & bass DJ and producer team called Future Cut, who were looking for a singer. Not long after that meeting a track called ‘Borderline’ featuring Jenna appeared on a Future Cut EP for heavyweight label Renegade Hardware, the response to it was incredible.
The 3 creators knew there was something magic in the connection and soon after this the drum & bass trio Un-Cut was formed in 2000. Un-Cut’s debut white label – Midnight – sold out of its 10,000 copy run within weeks and drew a lot of attention from the music industry. In 2001 Un-Cut signed to EMI publishing and in June that year they signed to Warner’s M Records. Their debut album came out in July 2003 with the re-release of its debut single Midnight. After the band split, Jenna G continued singing and writing songs for EMI publishing which saw her working with So Solid’s JD, The Shapeshifters (UK), Danni Minogue and Aleesha Dixon amongst others. It was during this time in London that she was picked up by the BBC’s black music radio station, 1Xtra.
Jenna first visited 1Xtra in the summer of 2003 with Un-Cut. She walked through the doors again in June 2004, not as an artist but as a DJ, broadcasting for a month on the Xtra Talent slot. 1Xtra was impressed by Jenna’s presenting skills and put her together with Twin B, a Ministry Records A&R man and mixtape producer from East London. The pair clicked immediately and in August 2004 Twin B and Jenna G gained a Saturday afternoon slot (12noon-2.00pm), a music show which saw grimy East London meet the soul of the north-west. After a fun year Jenna gained a solo spot as weekend breakfast host, and spent 4 years every weekend morning bringing you a jam-packed show of the best in black music, entertainment and a live listener generated request show. Guests on her film feature “Lights Camera Action” included Beyonce, Quentin Tarantino, Josh Hartnett, Common, Paul Giamatti, Simon Pegg and Eli Roth to name a few. Her exploits in press pits at premieres have caught the attention of Hugh Grant, Tenacious D, Drew Barrymore, Daniel Radcliffe, Sienna Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer and so many more!
Whilst at 1Xtra Jenna continued as an artist honing her vocal and writing talents on a number of distinguished underground tracks in a number of genres but more prolifically in Drum n Bass, the genre of her own highly successful first solo album released on the Bingo Beats record label in 2006.
‘For Lost Friends’ the world’s first album of drum’n’bass songs was an emotional roller coaster, an insight into a life of heartache, wonder, love and sex, produced with some of the biggest names in drum’n’bass, but all soaked in pure Jenna. On her debut album Jenna let her imagination and emotions run wild, anti-odes to Paris Hilton, personal chants of finding inner strength and doing things for yourself. One minute she’s soaring above the earth, discovering untouched lands and unknown animal species. Next minute she’s describing how her parents want to be buried or she’s alone in a cold flat, left to fight her own demons. Then in a blink of an eye she’s in passionate, sexy lust with someone’s strong arms around her waist and gentle butterfly kisses fluttering down on her back. Tracks from the album were produced by a variety of prominent drum and bass producers such as DJ Zinc, Nu:tone, Friction, D Bridge, D KAY, and Kabuki.
Jenna has toured the album worldwide playing to soulful dnb lovers on every continent, her unique stage presence and repertoire unmatched by any other solo dnb artist. She also managed to fit in 2 years as the official vocalist for The Shapeshifters having appeared on their first album Sound Advice as songwriter and backing vocalist. The new album ‘Do Not Disturb’ which features her songwriting and vocal talents was set for release this year on EMI in 2009 having already spawned 2 UK chart entries in 2008, ‘Pusher’ & ‘New Day’. The Shapeshifters move to new label Defected prompted a different direction for the album, remixes and refixes on the new label from the unreleased follow up to Sound Advice will feature Jenna G alongside house legend Frankie Knuckles.
Not content with a nationally syndicated radio show and a few top forty hits under her belt, Jenna is again back in the studio working on her second solo album ‘The Break Up’ working alongside veteran producer Zed Bias and hot new talent Engine-Earz as well as touring the world as one of the prominent Drum and Bass MC Artists. 2009 also brings with it a new commitment as lead vocalist for The Qemists Live show. The Qemists a 3 piece dnb crew from Brighton are currently touring their debut album ‘Join The Q’ which features Jenna G, Wiley, Mike Patton, MC ID & Zoe Devlin on vocal duties. Having already cut their teeth on a two week European support slot for Enter Shikari this year The Qemists Live will be getting on the festival circuit throughout summer in the UK, Europe and Japan, keeping Jenna busy in and out of the studio right up until the end of the year when work on a second dnb album begins….

Hailing from the leafy suburbs of South West London is Ram Records’ new signing Wilkinson. His first insight into making music came at the age of 9 when his parents bought him a drum kit. Mark ‘Wilkinson’ joined a few bands and was playing at venues as far as the Birmingham NEC and as close as the local old peoples home. This swiftly ended at the age of 14 when Wilkinson discovered his passion for dance music amongst other things. In his final year at college Wilkinson tried his hand at making beats in the college studio, this lead to him buying his first bits of production gear and turning his bedroom into a studio. A few years and part time jobs later, after driving his family mad with large amounts of bass loosening the brickwork of his house, Mark secured himself a studio not far from his home.
After fine-tuning his production skills, Wilkinson passed a few songs on to Hospital Records via Cyantific, which led to his first release on Hospital Records’ Sick Music 2 compilation. A few months later Wilkinson sent a folder of tunes to Ram Records and within days received a phone call from Andy C inviting him for a meeting at the Ram Records HQ.
October 2010 saw three of Wilkinson’s songs featured on Andy C’s Nightlife 5 album and releases including ‘Moonwalker’/'Samurai’, ‘Refuge’, ‘Get Into It’ and the mighty ‘Everytime’/'Overdose’ doing damage across dance-floors worldwide, winning fans from Skream, Fabio and High Contrast in the process.
Since then Mark has remixed Chase & Status top 5 single ‘Time’, Time Takers ‘She Blows’ and Example’s new single ‘Midnight Run’ to much critical acclaim. He’s also currently working on production projects for new Mercury Records signing Jay’Elle’Dee and Island Records artist Jess Mills.
Now hotly tipped to do big things across drum & bass and electronica, Wilkinson is also busy working on his debut album for Ram Records and continues to tour worldwide from Sydney to Berlin, Barcelona to Brighton with his dynamic and energetic DJ sets.

There are few figures in electronic music who manage to combine commercial success with underground respectability. The Bristol-based producer and DJ known as TC is one such individual, utilising his talents to comfortably flit between remixing Number One artists and unleashing rave-razing bass-driven monsters pitched straight at the underground.
Sitting atop of an anthem-packed discography that includes some of the most memorable dancefloor tracks of modern times, and with remixes for the likes of Rihanna, Damian Marley & Nas and Tinie Tempah behind him, TC should need little introduction to any fan of bass-driven music.
First emerging with tracks for one of jungle/D&B’s most legendary labels, Dillinja’s Valve Recordings, it was the release of TC’s debut album ‘Evolution’ in 2007 that propelled the young producer to D&B’s top table.
Packed with anthems such as the utterly unique ‘Deep’ featuring MC Jakes, ‘Jump’, ‘Rockstar’ and the enormous ‘Where’s My Money’ (famously remixed by Caspa), ‘Evolution’ earned TC the titles of ‘Breakthrough Producer’ and ‘Producer Of The Year’ at the BBC Radio 1Xtra Drum & Bass Awards, while catapulting him to the top of Radio One’s National Dance Chart and earning unprecedented radio support from everyone from Pete Tong and Jo Whiley to MAH and Zane Lowe, with the latter bestowing TC with highly regarded ‘Record Of The Week’ title on more than one occasion.
More than just another faceless DJ or studio-confined producer, early on TC broke convention by singing on many of his own tracks, and provided vocals for Pendulum’s debut album ‘Hold Your Colour’, a habit he continues to this day, having recently supplied vocals for Hospital starlets Camo & Krooked’s debut LP and the mighty Subfocus’ forthcoming second album.
After taking a short break from the spotlight, 2011 saw TC return to the raves and the airwaves in style, dropping one of the year’s biggest D&B bangers ‘Tap Ho’ while turning his hand to dubstep on ‘Concrete’ and drumstep on ‘Burning Starlight’ (both featuring vocals from Dread MC). Released through his own freshly launched record label, Don’t Play, the artistic freedom offered by being his own boss is already clearly paying dividends for TC.
“I’m not playing around anymore; I don’t want to do things by halves,” TC stated in a recent interview. “I think I’m at a stage now where I can choose my own path.” And with Don’t Play firing on all cylinders, a packed global DJ schedule and more massive tracks up his sleeve, TC is quite clearly on the right path. 2012 already has his name all over it….
